The Jeep Compass is one of the brand’s most popular SUVs and has been performing exceptionally well in the global market. While this segment is filled to the brim, the Compass still manages to surpass its counterparts thanks to the high degree of personalization and configuration that Jeep has to offer. This, along with an impressive list of features make the Jeep Compass a solid pick in the compact crossover SUV segment.
For the 2022 model year, the Compass receives a list of notable updates that include a new dashboard design, a new tablet-style touchscreen infotainment system with the latest Uconnect software, a refreshed exterior design that includes a revised front end, and the addition of a new Latitude Lux variant. The Compass draws its power from a 2.4-liter Tigershark® Inline-four Cylinder engine that pumps out 177 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and the power is sent to the front wheels. Apart from the base trim, all the other trims come standard with a four-wheel-drive system as well as a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The Compass’s interior is well put together with an ample amount of space for all the passengers. The feature offerings and materials used differ based on the trim. The 2022 Compass is offered in six trims, namely Sport, Latitude, Latitude Lux, Trailhawk, Limited, and High Altitude. The base trim is draped with cloth upholstery and six-way manually-adjustable front seats while the higher trims are upgraded vinyl-cloth upholstery, heated & ventilated front seats along with eight-way power-adjustable function for the front seats, and leather-wrapped shift knob & steering wheel, to name some of them.
The new Uconnect® 5 interface offered in the 2022 Compass works like a charm and is user-friendly. Features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity are offered as standard. The new tablet-style touchscreen display improves the viewing experience. If you are looking for a better setup, the 10.1-inch touchscreen display offered in the higher trims will do the trick.
The 2022 Compass comes with Jeep’s Advance Safety Suite that is an amalgamation of various safety features. This includes features like Forward Collision Warning +, Blindspot Monitoring System with Rear Cross-Path, Active Lane Management, and Pedestrian/Cyclist Emergency Detection, and ParkView® Rear Back-Up Camera, to name some of the various features offered.
