The Wagoneer nameplate is a historical and an iconic one for the Jeep brand. It was first used for a luxury 4x4 station wagon that pioneered the design of vehicles in the traditional sport utility vehicle class back in 1962. That first generation was produced through 1991 before the nameplate was discontinued. Congruently, from 1983 to 1990 – while the Wagoneer was renamed the Grand Wagoneer – a variation of the Jeep Cherokee adopted the Wagoneer name. Now, the company is reintroducing the nameplate as a full-size SUV based on the chassis of the RAM 1500. The 2022 Jeep Wagoneer will be the brand’s new flagship model, and we cannot wait for it to arrive here in Uvalde TX.
There are so many exciting aspects that we could touch on within the all-new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer that we could be here all day. Instead, we figured we’d start by highlighting one aspect of the vehicle, its technology. The 2022 Wagoneer will feature the all-new Uconnect 5 system, which includes a host of incredible features and content. For example, shoppers will be able to choose between a 10.1” or 12” display audio screen that can be customized and even run with a split-screen to allow for more than one application to be used at a time.
A 10.25” passenger screen joins it, providing four functions for your front seat passenger to utilize on the road. They include Co-Pilot – which allows them to help with navigation and device management, Entertainment – which can come via an HDMI input or by controlling the Rear Seat Entertainment system, the ability to view the vehicle’s various exterior cameras and, finally, the new Fire TV for Auto.
Other features of the Uconnect 5 system include Alex “Home to Car” functionality, five customizable user profiles that automatically adjust different settings and preferences plus a valet mode as a sixth profile, a fully customizable home screen, the ability to connect two different devices to the vehicle via Bluetooth, the wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and so much more.
