Cook’s Slough Nature Park is a great place to go for an easy walk with the family or to come and explore the area with an outdoor activity in mind. Cook’s Slough is also home to many wild animals like deer, armadillos, possums, and more. There are also many educational kiosks about the natural history of the area that allow you to learn about the topography, flora, and fauna. 

The museum is a venue for numerous activities, from space exploration to aviation experiments. Fun and educational exhibits can be found at the facility, which has been dedicated to Uvalde Aerospace since its inception in 1965. The museum’s tours last approximately one hour and include a walk through the hangar, where visitors will have the opportunity to view aircraft from World War II and other vintage aircraft. 

Uvalde Memorial Park is the city’s most popular park, with a fenced-in walking trail and a covered pavilion. It has been ranked as one of the best parks in Texas by publications like Texas Highways, USA Today, and Lonely Planet. In addition to being a great place for kids to play, the park features an old farm, nature walk through the chapel, and a giant water tank that has become an iconic landmark in Uvalde.
